Welcome to “For the Sake of the Church,” where we journey through the rich tapestry of Scripture to strengthen our faith and deepen our understanding. This term, we’re embarking on a voyage through the book of 1 Corinthians. Get ready to immerse yourself in its timeless wisdom and challenge to worldliness creeping into the church. Below is a 46 day reading plan that accompanies our preaching campaign and uses the S.O.A.P Method.
What is the S.O.A.P Method?
Before we dive into the depths of 1 Corinthians, let’s equip ourselves with a helpful tool: the S.O.A.P method. S.O.A.P stands for Scripture, Observation, Application, and Prayer. It’s a simple yet effective way to engage with God’s Word, allowing it to transform our hearts and minds.
Scripture: Start by selecting a passage from 1 Corinthians to read. Let the words wash over you, soaking into your soul.
Observation: Reflect on what you’ve read. What stands out to you? Are there any themes, phrases, or verses that resonate deeply?
Application: How does this passage apply to your life? What insights can you glean from it? Consider how you can live out its teachings in your daily walk with Christ.
Prayer: Finally, respond to God in prayer. Thank Him for revealing Himself through His Word and ask for His guidance as you seek to apply its truths in your life.
